HappyBrownGirl: A born-again Southerner and bicultural black woman with a hint of an afro-indie aesthetic about her. I'm also an American Studies graduate student writing a dissertation about black women electric guitarists. I dig the African Diaspora, Hello Kitty, other people's cupcakes, patty melts, transformative agency, black cultural resource design, blues, rock & black feminisms. I'm the cat's meow! *rebel yell*

Note: Black is...Black ain't.

NATURALLY AND ABSOLUTELY ALL INFORMATION POSTED HERE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND CORRECTION AS RESEARCH PROGRESSES AND KNOWLEDGE EXPANDS

I dig an individual's right to identify themselves. I use "black" not to perpetuate parochial blackness, but to embrace the diverse experiences that fall under this rubric for the sake of my research.
